Got a 98 2.7l taco here and about a year ago I replaced whole top end and deleted the EGR and drove for a year solid with no issues at all.

About 2 weeks ago my truck began dying every time I would come to a stop, once it was warmed up. I adjusted the throttle set screw so that it would idle enough for me to get back and forth from work but i’ve thrown some parts at it in my best attempt to fix the problem.

I have since replaced the radiator, because it was cracked, the thermostat, and last year I had capped off 2 coolant lines that ran to and from my EGR (since i deleted it), but those caps ruptured and caused a massive coolant leak so i replaced them with a hose that connects the 2 lines. I have also just replaced my water pump this evening because I was hopeful that would be causing some sort of snafoo that replacing would eliminate, but it did not. My truck will run at about 900 rpm no problem until it has run for a few minutes. After that the lowest i can get my truck to stay running at is about 1100 rpm.

I have a fairly okay understanding of my truck but i’m not a mechanic so i’m not sure where to turn now. I will be checking back often to answer questions as i’m sure i’ve left something out.

Almost sounds like the truck is having an issue once it goes to Closed Loop on the fuel status.

    Is the Engine light on?

I'd also like to see some live data as the problem happens.

There is no check engine light and no codes. What data specifically would be useful?
