So before I tear this thing down further, does anyone know if there is anything other to be replaced than the servo when they start clicking? I've already replaced it twice with a new unit and both have failed within a month of replacing it. I took notice this time that it's only clicking in "fresh air" mode. Being that the door has a connecting shaft that is flat on both sides I wouldn't think it or the white extension socket would strip out. The socket on the servo where the shaft inserts is surely not to strip out either. It is my assumption, being that I haven't opened one of the servos up yet, that the it must be the internal gears that are stripping out. Can anyone confirm this?

That's the air mix servo, the one I'm having an issue with is the one that controls the damper that allows for fresh air or to recirculate the cabin air.

Same concept with only minor differences. Just wanted you to see what the inside looks like.

    Plastic gears are the issue.

I just opened mine up and turned the gear 180°. That was 4 years ago....still working.

Okay, I did look at that and figured that was the case. I was actually wondering if there is anything else to the white plastic components between the servo and the damper door. For whatever the reason the damper door fell off of mine and was laying on top of the fan (cabin filter has long since been removed) and I was able to pull the white plastic extension shaft out of the housing to look at it but there was no noticeable damage. LIke I said previously the shaft on the door is flat on both sides which slides into the white plastic extension and then the shaft on the extension that goes into the servo is identical. I'm pretty sure there's not an issue with these components but figured I would ask in case there's something I'm not seeing. It probably just these poorly built servos and the only way to fix it is to just keep swapping it, disconnect it, or rig up a throttle cable to it.

So that two SMP servos from Rockauto to fail. Let me see if I can find an original in an ACDelco box.
