Stupid Dakars Question

    So I bought some OME medium Dakars and they arrived this week. One thing thing that surprises me: in every pic of them I have seen before I have seen a plus sign `+' followed by an arrow, I guess to indicate which end of the leaf pack should point toward the front of the truck. But mine have an `O' followed by an arrow:



    I assume that is still pointing toward the end toward the front of the truck? Does anyone know what the `O' versus `+' means?

    It has to do with the tolerances allowed for the spring to pass I think. + is a little higher but still within a desired tolerance. 0 and -

    So then `O' is in the middle of the tolerance range? Is that good or bad?

    Yep, what he said. They’ll send you two at random and they may be + O or -

    If you have one higher than the other, put that one on the drivers side.

    No, I am having a friend do it. He is a mechanic and so has a lift. He said it is much easier that way.

    Let me add though that if I could do it with him I would, but his shop's insurance policy won't allow it. I think understand the process though.

    He did tell me that:

    1. It takes longer off the lift (his exact quote was "I can do it in 1/3 the time on the lift")

    2. Most people could do this themselves 80 percent of the time. About 20 percent of the time there is some kind of an issue. Wouldn't be a big deal to an experienced mechanic who has seen it a bunch of times and knows the remedies, but could really frustrate a noob

    3. Coilover adjustment is, as he put it, "not something you want to do for the first time on your hella expensive shocks" (I got the ADS 2.5 inchers with reservoir front and back) and "without proper gear". He told people have actually seriously hurt themselves messing with them.
