Technically not mods but give me a break I'm trying to fill space here... OEM Leather pkg, keyless unlock & ACC chime silence, BakFlip G2, Ultra Gauge EM, WeatherTech floor mats, OEM roof rack
Same thing here a week ago.. stupid thing jumped out and stood there like it wanted to get smacked... luckily we were only going slow and avoided it. Damned things are everywhere around here.

OP: Besides the hair the only damage I see is that scratch..which looks like it can be fixed up easy enough.

Looks like the deer have it out for you!

I know the feeling. In 1978 I totaled a new Saab while riding in a quiet neighborhood in Ithaca, NY. The $%^&* deer jumped out of a driveway into the front grill of the car, and totaled the car. The Cops came and wrote out an accident report, and told me that I had until sundown to get the deer off the highway! I asked him how I was supposed to do that since my car was totaled and I was 100 miles from home. He answered that it wasn't his problem, but if he found the carcass he'd write me a ticket with a big fine. Luckily, the driver of the wrecker that towed my wrecked car away took the deer in lieu of payment.

So, I've had about a dozen new vehicles since then, the latest a 2012 DCSB SR5 Taco. The first thing I do to them is put on a set of deer whistles.

    See http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...eer-alert/_/N-25sk?itemIdentifier=413044_0_0_

Yeah, I know, save your money, they don't work. But I've witnessed deer and dogs stopping short and becoming very alert when I drive up, and not one deer has challenged a vehicle of mine since. Deer are like jackrabbits in Upstate NY; if you see one (and you regularly do) 4-5 more are right behind. 34 years without a repeat experience. YMMV.

I was just lurking over at deerworld.com and some deer posted that he let one get away, but that he'd really buck him good next time around. :D

it does suck, but could be way worse. Those scratches look like they might be able to be buffed out

She got off easy. I hit a deer on a Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle at triple digit speeds.

OP, talk to your insurance company as this should fall under 'act of god' which means you get your truck fixed and your premiums aren't affected. Your damage actually doesn't look too bad at all. My in-laws had a deer hit them as well and the damage was FAR worse. They were driving at 55mph in their new Honda Accord with only 500 miles on the odometer when a deer ran out and managed to run into the side of their car at 55mph starting at the A-pillar and damaged every body panel from there back. If the car wasn't so new it likely would have been totaled with the amount of damage that was done.

So, hopefully those two stories help you feel a little bit better about your level of misfortune. :D

So after cleaning the truck I found out I got off easy my buddies going to buff the scratches out this week that's the only damage I found. I know I'm lucky but I think deer have it out for me that's two this year now lol. It could have been worse doing 50 an a deer runnin into the side and all I got was a scratch that's pretty good.

Save your money. The in-laws that had a deer hit them (story above) had two of them on the front of the their car and it didn't seem to deter the deer a bit. I was skeptical about those things ever since I heard about them but this incident solidified it for me. Don't drive faster than you can react to your surroundings and always be aware of your surroundings and what could be lurking beyond them is the only way to minimize your chances of hitting something.

Maybe I've just been lucky. Yeah, the best advice is what you said. I drive pretty slow at night in deer country.

Hah! Another deer whistle believer besides ol' monkeyface! It could be aliens too, but you're only investing $10 in the things.
