hit a deer this morning driving home from work. i'm a vampire so my shift ends at 6. only reason driving truck was because my Ford escape was in the shop getting a transmission replaced at 66k miles. nothing bad. i'll get pics tomorrow. my mechanic was able to pop the bumper out so tires didn't rub and its drivable. all the lights except the turn signal bumper light . however damage is not a total loss. grill (was thinking upgraded), bumper, bumper mounts (all rusted inside), headlight (boy didn't like the lights on it, wanted to upgrade anyway), trim piece on bumper / below grill. estimate right now is 2k in parts. but still took the hit good.

so with any downsides the upside is now I have a reason to upgrade instead of stock. any ideas on bumpers that look decent?

Coastal has a 10-15% sale right now. Super easy kit to knock out if you have a welder.

I love my Trail gear rock defense bumper. It’s usually one of the cheapest options for a bolt on.
It’s the only tube bumper I like, the rest are too prerunner-esque for me. This one is much more solid, like a plate bumper.

Thing is stout, totaled a civic with it and only had to touch up some paint.

Not sure if it’s just for this bumper or for most of them, but the mounting plate is a real tight fit over the frame rails.
    Any front end collision may
just barely bend a frame rail out of square and make getting the mount plate on a royal pita. Just a warning in advance.

Those bumpers will turn the deer into hamburger. Good choices. GrillCraft has nice grills

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I've got a relatively cheap bumper, comes from a local outfit in WA called The4x4Store, one of their employees makes em. Was like $750 unpainted

Ignore the unequal line between bumper and grill, it's because the body is flexing on its mounts a bit, it's perfectly parallel on flat land.

With all the ditches full of water they’re taking a flying leap to clear ‘em right on to the road. More chance of the Deer hitting you here, not the other way around.

Stupid human drove into a deer. We're all on the same rock. From the deer's perspective you're the asshole.

I've been wondering the same and just can't justify spending that much on a bumper! Wish someone made a cheap one made out of stainless or something. But then it would be too heavy for my coilovers and such!

I would love to handle the deer 1 vs 1.hooves vs hands. they keep running off. had 2 deer run into the side of my car leaving dents , 1 I hit corner took out bumper, light, fender, computer bracket, computer cover, headlight. this last one will be bumper headlight, grill, trim, inner fender, fender support.
