Hey Nickel,In case you are unaware you can have your foot on the brake pedal and not build any brake pressure but it does speed up the process if you need brakes suddenly. It is also a really neat "old trick"to get jackasses off your ass.You really should think things out before putting your"two cents".

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Wrong again Harold! Maybe in 1970, but not true today. You touch the brake pedal and you're putting pressure to the brakes. You're just too lazy to hold you're foot over the pedal, and you're driving techniques are antiquated, so you keep creating these situations where you think you're right in holding the brake and gas, but you're wrong. Only in racing situations do you need to hold brake and gas, never in everyday driving. End of story.

Nickle,Nickle,Nickle,You are in a hole with a shovel.Race drivers are tested way beyond everyday drivers and develop techniques to get ahead. This is why they are almost invariably better drivers. I will let you in on a little secret;I am a former professional racer and a 5 time champion. Now,if you want to drive with nannies then go ahead.Personally I'd prefer Toyota turn them off in my vehicle!

No relay... it's an ECU flash.

So wire a switch in series with the brake light switch.
When you need to use the brake and gas together, flip the switch to disable the brake light and the ECU will not know you are operating the brake.

Not so good on the road because you won't have brake lights, and it will probably throw an ABS code if the truck senses deceleration consistent with braking but does not sense the brake light, but that's the only solution.

And you're not running over 25% throttle while still holding the brake, unless it's maybe San Francisco.

    Nope.

    It's an ECU flash.

Only option is the slim chance of finding a used Tacoma that has not had the floor mat recall done. That would have to be a private party sale, because a dealership cannot sell a vehicle with an outstanding recall.

I don't understand what all the fuss about is here? He wants to use the brakes for more traction without it cutting power? It's called Auto-LSD, turn it on and there you go. As far as power braking, my truck has had the recall done and will power brake, but if you are moving over a certain speed it cuts throttle. I seriously don't get what the big deal is. These systems are federally mandated systems, don't go complaining to Toyota.

I never said I needed or wanted nannies, all I said is there is no practical reason to use brakes and gas at the same time in everyday driving. Your examples are poor, and your know it all attitude makes you sound like a whiner. I'm glad you can handle a vehicle without nannies, I wish all drivers could, I hate the fact that we need to dumb down our cars so any idiot can drive.

Quote from previous post in this thread:
I agree, new cars have too many nannies. Instead of holding drivers accountable, we just keep making driving easier for idiots. No left turn without arrow, no right turn without arrow, lights at intersections that don't need it, cars with ability to sense other cars stopped, and the list goes on and on. We allow idiots to drive, drivers in New Mexico only need to score a 70/100 on written exam to get a license. What 30% of laws don't they need to know? To be allowed to drive, people should have to get a 100% on written and driving test. People should be forced to take 2-4 week course on defensive driving, and pass it with 100%. I feel driving is a privilege, not a right, and we should be acting accordingly.

    The TPMS is Federally mandated.

The throttle override is Toyota's way out of lawsuits.

I was referring to traction control. Either way, you can still power brake below a certain speed. This whole thread is moot, OP is complaining about trying to gain traction by lightly braking both wheels, when computers do a better job of it with Auto-LSD.

I beg to differ about being mandated.I just drove a new Charger that was not restricted in this way,so apparently not.As far as avoiding lawsuits I thought shortening the gas pedal accomplished that.My offer stands:I will pay anybody plenty to disable this useless feature!

Must be a TW record of some sort here. Shortest bitch fest by post count over the longest length of time, 2 months, and to top it off, 1 month between the last comeback!

If you would pay attention, I said the TPMS is federally mandated...

    TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM.

The "stupid stop" is 100% Toyota trying to avoid issues from ambulance chasers.
