It's new......mods starting soon. Removed step bars so far. lol
I just upgraded from my badass little ( but getting old ) regular cab 2010 to a brand new 2018 SR5 DCSB. I had a custom box in my regular cab that I built myself. I'm not into rattling my truck into pieces but I am kind of an audiophile and love to hear all aspects of music. This isn't really obtainable without a sub. So I was wondering if anyone has built their own box that doesn't take up much if any of the "usable" cab space or passenger areas. Pretty much a home made stealth box......the only one I see on the market right now is over $700 and that's ridiculous. Thanks in advance

    Yeah.
I built one like this for my 2nd gen, fits in the cubby behind the driver-side rear seat. Pretty sure the cubbies are the same on the 3rd gen. I think I used a Punch 8" sub. Did a sealed box, internal volume worked out good for that particular sub. Ran a 4-channel amp with one side bridged for the sub and the other side powering front door component speakers.

I kept my 8" JL Type R from my regular cab box that I built. That sub bangs for an 8 with my 1,000 watt Kenwood amp. Thanks for the box design much appreciated

    Yeah.
No problem, but I would validate the dimensions against your cubby to be sure it will work. There's also a guy called Mr. Marv that folks here have used, everyone seems to love his stuff, do a search on him. Maybe someone has pics posted of his work.
