    I have a 90 degree adapter coming for the mic. The bottom coax cable is kind of crushed, but it still works

    No issues with overheating the unit in an enclosed space?

    Sorry for the late reply guys, I didn't have Internet where I was. Also, Ryan, I don't mean to BS too much on your thread bro!!! My "walls", as I am known for, get long!!! LOL!!! Sorry man.

    Do you have one of these types of connectors? The way you describe "crushed", it sounds as if you don't? If you didn't know about these, this should be able to solve that problem to a large degree? :notsure: You definitely want to avoid kinks in RF cabling as much as possible!!! Please see the attached link just below the picture.

    PL_259_to_SO_239_RightAngleAdapter.jpg

    http://www.americanradiosupply.com/uhf-male-female-right-angle-elbow-coaxial-adapter-connector/

    You could go with the connector that Ryan posted as it is already pre-built, but possibly limits you to where you want to mount??? :notsure: During my research, I saw that cable as well and was thinking about it as an alternative for what my friend wanted to do.
    As far as the connectors, I live close by an electronics shop (luckily for me, about 2.5mi away) that sells all kinds of odds and ends and they happen to sell the ones I posted in the CB specifics thread and this one (please see the pics for the connectors). These are the EXACT same connectors that I bought from JK (see the pics) and they were $4.50/ea. The place is a bit pricey for certain things for sure, but if you need fairly "odd parts" that, most likely, other places won't usually stock and taking into consideration of possible shipping costs and what not, in the end, it sorta pays for itself... in that sense.
    The 4-pin male CB connector that you see in the 2nd pic, I'm thinking you can get it from e-bay? The right angle, you can get it from Amazon. Not necessarily that same type, but, as far as I know, should work? Ryan's setup is pretty nice looking!

    Here is the address to that electronics store, if you're interested:
    JK Electronics
    6401 Westminster Blvd.
    Westminster, CA 92683

    LOL!!! I paid about $15 for mine and it is about the same as you describe, "medium loudness"???!!! :facepalm::frusty::smash:

    I plan on making a small audio amp for it and see how much signal boost it gives. Just in case no one knows, but, I believe, most PA outputs on CB's are "fixed level"! Meaning, you have NO "VOLUME CONTROL"!!! When I get to that homemade little amp, I'll definitely take some pics, post, and give a report on volume increase differences (i.e. if it made any significant difference).

    @WileECoyote thanks for that info! I ordered one of those right angle ones from Amazon, but they sent me a much smaller one. It was too much to return it, so I decided to just leave it. But thanks for the link, ill be ordering one soon

    My external speaker is controlled by the volume knob on the uniden. Thanks for the compliments and glad I could help provide some info. You can post your "wall"of text in my build thread anytime:thumbsup:

    GOSH DAMNIT MAN!!! F'N COBRA!!! :eek::goingcrazy::annoyed::frusty::smash:

    So, let me re-phrase my previous statement, "... my Cobra CB radio, a Cobra 19 Ultra iii, does NOT allow me to control the volume out of the PA as it is a 'fixed level' output so I want to make a simple audio amp... I don't know about other CB radios?" :notsure: However, Uniden does!!! :D:thumbsup:

    Thank you Ryan.:hattip::bowdown:
