The important difference are the cat-less headers. He doesn’t have any cats or resonators in the exhaust whereas you said your truck has the stock exhaust manifolds with primary cats

Just want to keep everyone in the loop with what is going on.

Currently in the process of getting everything kosher on the tax/IRS side of things. Things get a bit different with online sales etc.

Also setting up an online quickbooks for ease of invoicing/paying.

Bear with me please! This is still happening!

A massive order of stainless is also being placed shortly. The goal is getting things to the point where I always have material on hand to build a couple, or even having a couple pre built and ready to ship!

This whole thing happened way quicker than I assumed.

I will take zero money until it’s actual game time!

If I stick with the 1GR, headers will be a next up deal. But in my stupid little world, I have this “idea” of a big turbo 2j being pretty dang cool.

What exhaust would you recommend pairing with this? I had a reroute done around my transfer case and don't think my OEM one bolts in in the right place anymore.

The oem was cut I assume? The quietest option is hands down going to be a factory TRD exhaust. If you went with this Y I could make you a custom length mid pipe to adapt to your factory exhaust.

Also update. It’s been a minute and I apologize for this.

Things are dragging longer than I had hoped to get things rolling. Seemingly the way things always go.

Either way. We’re very close now. All billing will be done via quickbooks. All major cards accepted, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, wire transfers.

I apologize for this delay and can’t wait to start burning stainless again instead of sitting behind this dang computer.

Yeah, it was cut. Thinking about factory TRD or Magnaflow Overland. High clearance rear and don't want to lose any clearance. I think both are 2.5. Would I lose some benefit using a 2.5 vs 3.0? Then not sure if it was mentioned, but do I need to worry about CEL codes or anything like that triggering with this Y-pipe?

I think either exhaust is a solid choice. Then paired with the Y pipe to 2.5” mid pipe. No worry at all of CEL. The one hiccup that did occur was a gasket issue that has been rectified

I’d definitely be interested in a 3rd gen if you decide to do them and it would fit a MT truck.

3rd is still happening. Everything is being built around auto 4x4’s so will work with 2wd, auto and manual.

complete Long Travel Suspension built by DMZ: 3+ Control Arms by TC, Bed Cage, Denver Under Springs, Fox all around (Coilover & Bypass up Frt, 3.0 Bypass Rr). Full Glass front fenders and bedsides. Engine so far: TRD CAI, DT Headers, URD Y Pipe, Gibson Muffler. And a Sprint Booster. Sits on Toyo OC 35x12.5 on 17’s. Nitro Rear end and re-geared for 35’s (4.56). Goals: Flowed Heads, Cams, and Boost (SC) ! So far, so good
Oh man, just when I thought I was free of the Taco build rabbit hole … you came BACK !!!

and dang, yes for sure I’m gonna want
(My buddy and partner in crime has one of your original’s and I’ve been trying for years to make him part ways with it). With no luck of course

my quick Q’s to you… I’m staying NA , and I’ve got as many mods as one can on that simple NA and she go… my “Q?” would be to stay true to my 2.5 Gibson exhaust or re invent the wheel? I’m running Equal Length Headers, Cat-less URD Y pipe and into a Cat-back GIBSON 2.5 super Flow system

Performance wise, for me, the most important bolt on would not make me loose bottom end grunt (dirt beast) …
So, do I stay 2.5 and have some built in back pressure or go big, and build 3.0 exhaust ???

*Note: besides CAI, Light Pulleys and Tune… I have that “1 inch” Intake manifold Spacer (great Torque mod btw)

hit me back and lmk your thoughts

Mahalos ahead of time and sending ah ton of Aloha

I would stick with 2.5. In the Boosted threads, the common feedback was 2.5 N/A or 3 if S/C, or if you do a dual setup with X pipes, etc, some guys have done 2.5".

NA is going to do better with 2.5 for the Y back!

I was wondering myself if after the Y stepping up to 3” for the rest of the exhaust and muffler would make it smoother sounding. My thought was 3” would slow the velocity of the moving air and make it deeper sounding. I’ve never built an exhaust for a V6 so not really sure how 3” vs 2.5” effects overall volume.

Slowing velocity is going to hurt performance. Yes it will be a deeper tone.

The reality is, 2.5” will support upwards of 500hp. Though after the 400 or so range with forced induction 3” should be a consideration. These figures are based on power at the crank. Not wheels.
