Sprung for an AFE twisted steel Y pipe, but this has def grabbed my attention. I haven't installed yet, but can easily return to Summit depending on how these turn out.

First fill up today and calculated a 1.2mpg gain with this heavy pig. And that’s driving somewhat like a dick with a new exhaust. I’ll take that as a win, and as a sign it improved efficiency!

Interested, please add me to the list.

Curious on how much clearance is between y-pipe and crossmember? I have a custom crossmember when converted from pre-runner to 4x4 that sits slightly higher.

Interestingly enough popped a CEL for catalyst efficiency on both banks this evening. Really wouldn’t have thought this would happen considering the primaries are still in place. Time to dig a bit.

Anybody ever run into this after a y pipe install?

Generally, exhaust leaks from the manifold-Ypipe junction if that's all that's changed.

Yeah, that’s where my thinking is too. Found some different gaskets and have them ordered. Can’t really think of anything else.

Have you checked the flanges for warping after the weld?

Confirmed exhaust gaskets. It’s just my 250k mile factory flanges that are pretty uneven at this point. Ordered a new style gasket that is supposed to work very well at filling voids and rated to 3,000*.

    All about testing and improving!

No flange warpage. They are welded on a chill block and straight as an arrow.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I think URD makes some factory style gaskets that are thicker, I guess the step in the flange for aftermarket headers is bigger, or something. I dunno the specifics of them, or if they would work for you, but something to check out?

I found factory style for 2.25” so we will give this route a shot. Initially the plan was a 2 bolt gasket, but that just isn’t going to work.

Replaced with OE style gaskets this evening. Long road trip coming up Saturday. But I’m sure we will be solid!

If you still have issues, give Remflex 6006 gaskets a try. That’s what I’m running on my JFR Y

Funny thing is I ordered a few sets of the remflex last night! But these are going to be the solution for sure! Trying to make this as trouble free as possible for all!

These will be same day available at most parts stores, and cheap!
