I’m curious if anyone’s tried putting the Subaru kicker tweeter in their 2nd gen. I’ve noticed that the Subaru tweeter has a 4 prong male socket which I think is plug and play for 3rd gens. Has anyone tried this successfully?

Pretty sure their is a fifty page thread in the audio section. Personally tho i find it silly to just swap tweeters. Do all your speakers. And taco tunes sucks.

Yes, but you need to upgrade the tweeters when you swap speakers. All you need is to take a metal strap and mount your tweeter to it and cut it to fit the previous tweeter mounts. I used 3.5 inch speakers and trimmed the mount to make them fit.

For wiring, cut the connection at the tweeter itself. At that point it's only two wires red and black, then solder to the connectors for your new tweeters.

I ended up replacing all my speakers with kickers Cs series and I had the kicker Subaru tweeters in there too. I was surprised, the quality of the kicker was less than I expected. I took out a 6.5 Rockford Fosgate pair and Rockford tweeter pair, and the sound quality decreased. I always thought kicker was higher quality than Rockford fosgate. Does anyone have experience with both that they can share?
