    If I was to get a commuter car, It would probably be a mazda 3 hatch, (not the mazdaspeed which is lucky to get 24mpg).

    I bought my first Subaru 4WD Wagon in 1977, brand new $5,550... Added some KC lights and took it to Baja... It was a like a dune buggy on the beach (with 13" tires lowered to 10 psi)!

    My second 4WD Subaru was a 1980:

    and my third was an '87... When I wore that one out after 150,000 miles or so, Subaru stopped making 4WDs and went to AWD (and no low range)... That was it for me!

    No comparison to the sti or evo though in my opinion. Like someone else said, they're cheap for a reason... If they were priced like the sti or evo, they'd never sell.

    very easy to mod and make great power too. Highway and dyno queens. prettty used to the evo/sti vs srt hatred. there are DB's in every car community, not just the 16 year old kids in srt's :laugh:

    I wouldn't say I was being a hater. I just don't think they should be compared to STIs or Evos. They're FWD and based off a cheap american car. They're far cheaper than the Mitsu or Subie. Not saying they are not fast but fast is not the only important factor unless you are 16. Ha :cool:
