yes the saz1000d will do over rated power (more than 1000@14v) but these subs are built to take abuse, they will handle more power, especially in a sealed box. I plan to hit mine with an saz-1500d i have sitting here, more power the better imo, but you need the electrical to support it.

If you havent researched anything about the electrical side of things i suggest it, it will only make your system better :)

yes ive read taking the plastic off is a solution, lets hope its enough :p

thats what fuses are for, they blow before the amp does.

in a nut shell install the largest gauge wire (thickest) for your power and ground you can

run a thicker wire from you alt + post to your battery + post for better power transfer (not a must but very recomended)

buy a bigger (more powerful) battery, it can help significantly and if you have the v6 we have a huuuge spot to put it.

and run an extra ground or 2 off your battery, one to engine block if possible and 1 to the frame if possible

this would be enough for around 1500 watts total 2000 is pushin it

and it definatly helps if you have the tow package which comes with a 135amp alty :)

just pay them to run wiring, then all you have to do is plug everything in
