    Yeah I just read that again and I think you are right. No it was the replacement cost of those two plastic bins. Anyway yes those two things on the back wall are just vents. They have little rubber flaps that act kinda like a check valve. The fan is the main AC/Heating fan. When you set the AC or heat to draw air from the outside the little rubber flaps go wide open and push air out the back of the cab. If you push the button on the dash to recirculate the air the vent flaps go closed. When I taped them off to see what would happen and ran the defrost what I figured out was I got almost no air flow. The cabin is now pressurized by the fan and it can't push in any air from the outside. Then the fan starts to get hot. Not good. So I ended up opening them back up.
