I have a small subwoofer from a Cambridge speaker system that I'd like to install in my truck. It runs off of a 12 v power supply. Is there a way to install this without including a separate amplifier and just tapping into a power source?

If you want the best sound quality out of it I hate to say it because it's annoying to wire but you should run a separate amp setup.

Ah gotcha. I'm on a tight budget, any recommendations on how to acquire a cheap amplifier?

Is this an amplified sub that goes with a computer speaker system? You can totally do that. Your truck's charging system is going to feed it more than 12V though - maybe closer to 15. That's 25% above what it's supposed to get, but maybe it won't burn up. It's likely a low-power setup <20W, so adding an amp to it might not work out. If plugging/playing doesn't give you enough output, you might just need to consider a proper setup. You can go cheap & still get good bass though - especially if you're building an enclosure yourself.
