10'' are the best sounding sub by far, and my two Type Xs out pound most subs i have come across including L7s and L5s.

I have great sound when i want it....then when i just feel like blowing someones head off..i turn up the sub a tiny bit and BOOOOOMMM!!!!

No its not, he is not hitting 167db on the TL. Box design or whatever.

If you can make a vid of your tacoma hitting 167db with the termlab on the dash, ill take back what I said. TermLab is the offical meter comp's use.

Never been impressed by W7s...ever. Always thought they lacked in sound quality and SPL too.

But in all reality. Its all in the box and the amp really more then the woofer itself.

couldve been that the amp wasn't powerful enough. I tend to see ppl push then too hard when they really aren't a super powerful sub and then they blow em lol

ill tell ya right now i have 2 precision power sq 8's and they sound just like a 12 inch w7 and to those guys saying 15's are pointless your wrong there to my friend had 2 15' fi bls and think he hit around 153 something like that
http://www.youtube.com/user/xfmd30#p/u/9/vXLdf0LOuR0 that is a very loud and very clear system that is the one i am talking about

15s aren't pointless if your going for SQ...but they are pointless in a fisrt gen Taco...no room. To fully utilize a 15'' sub you need a big ass box. like 3 cu ft each sub to make it worth it, if not more. Hence, pointless for him. Unless he is going for a competitive system in which case he better get a van or something with way way more truck space to take over.
