Just responded to your comment on youtube, I appreciate the feedback. Here is my response below.

"Thank you! There will be no indication on the dash. The way its supposed to work, is the light on the switch is supposed to pulse until the locker engages, once its engaged the light will go solid. I have been it talks with the guys over at AnytimeLocker, and they believe I have a faulty switch (with a bad light) so they are going to send me a new one. The anytime locker works in 2WD, 4hi and 4lo. No need to use the OEM locker button although you still can if you want. I plan on moving the switch along side the factory locker button in the headliner console, just waiting on some parts to arrive."

I had no clue about that one, I am sure more and more will pop up. would be cool if they could fool the dash light to come on too. When it automatically turns traction control off does that have any indicator / dash light?

they include an accessory dash light that lets you know when the rear diff is locked.

Oh there will be some mods all right
So it seems like this anytime locker doesn't require you to have that wire that goes from the passenger side to the driver side and utilize a wiretap like the competitors anytime locker does. I wonder what's different between the two

taps into the VSC switch wire. it does this so when you engage the anytime locker it automatically turns traction control off. as far as i would think this isnt necessary for the function of the anytime locker but i spliced into it regardless

All cool stuff, my question wasn't clear, sorry about that. What I was wondering if there were separate indicators that both the locker is engaged and traction control is turned off or do you just have to trust the system. From the looks of it I am just assuming you get 1 red indicator light.
either way, happy companies and people are continuing to innovate on this platform.

I like that the experimental inc kit uses the factory button, but dislike needing to install an LED if I want any indication other than the sound of the relay. I was hoping that I could use the black ops kit with my Switch-Pros, but they said that it is not compatible with a switch-pros controller.

What anytime locker told me is that I received a faulty switch so they are sending me a replacement. I think its possible that their first run might've had an issue with lights on the switch. When I get the new switch, I'll see if I can figure out a way to make it work with my SPOD (similar system to the Switch-Pros), I am sure it would just require figuring out which cable is which on the back of the switch, cutting those cables and running them to switch pros. I did something similar with the anytime backup camera.

Although I would think if you do go the route of hooking to an auxiliary switching system you aren't going to have any indicator that the locker is engaged. In that case the experimental option would be the better choice for your needs since it essentially includes an external light that illuminates once engaged.

To me it seems like a lot of extra work, So personally I am just going to add the anytime locker button along side the OEM locker button in the headliner console and hope that the replacement switch works correctly. Either way I have indication by the audible noise of relays clicking for now (sounds like a turn signal).

Yeah, ideally there would be a way to spoof the dash lights as well as use the oem overhead button, but that isn't an option right now. I have no switch space left (switch-pros and red arc brake controller on the left side, and BSM/Parking sensors in the center) which is why I was hoping I could use the black ops kit with the switch-pros.

One last question, does the black-ops kit require you to hold in the button for a certain amount of time to engage, or is it just a single short press and release to start the engagement?

Thank you. I think that will push me towards the ExperiMental Inc kit though. I don't like the thought of someone being able to accidentally hit a button and it start the locker engage process while I'm driving down the highway (my wife is definitely the type that would ask "what's this?" as she pushes the button, lol). ExperiMental requires you to hold the button in for 2.5 seconds.

the factory dash indicators for traction control will light up. they give you a little blue light that can be mounted anywhere. just need to drill a small round hole. i chose to drill the hole in one of the switch blanks on left of steering wheel. its really no more involved then having to add the separate switch for the other kit. either way both kits get the job done of locking the diff.

not sure why people keep bringing this up like it would be an issue. locking the diff at highway speeds would do virtually nothint since both wheels are spinning the same speed or are extremely close to being so. it would hurt nothing and affect nothing negatively. its only when you have one wheel spinning drastically faster than the other then try to engage that you would ever actually hurt anything. after being locker you wont hurt anything besides extra tire wear and chirping when turning. you can go as fast as possible without issue. simply think of it as a spool when locked. i do prefer the experimental kit simply for the fact it uses the oem locker switch

I guess the instructions about coming to a complete stop first and warnings they give about when to activate/deactivate are just CYA from the lawyers then?

id assume they only allow it to be used in 4lo because having the diff locked prevents individual tire braking in the rear for abs and stability control systems to function best. they want you at a complete stop just to prevent a situation where one tire is spinning faster than the other. people these days you gotta cover your ass on everything. same reason why we need a label that lets us know we shouldn't drink dish soap despite it smelling so good.

Yup! In my truck I just did a fj cruiser tcase, locked the add permanently, and wired the rear locker up like any other on/off accessory. Obviously lost almost all functions, but just taped all the dash lights off so i dont see them. Locked the diff at like 65mph the other day just fine.
