2014 DCSB TRD Offroad V6 with 5500 miles on it.

Maybe it's a combination of my engine breaking in and no more winter gas, but for this last tank of gas I got 40 more miles out of my tank that I have ever previously had driving the same way I always do for 90/10 city/hwy miles.

    Any other possible reasons?

It is the switch from winter blend gas to summer blend gas. Also the Temperatures are warming up so your engine is not burning as much fuel.

Wow that's great. I didn't think I see a gain that high between summer/winter gas blends.

    ^^This.

I can always tell when the winter/summer gas blends come in when my scanguage II registers .5-1 gallon off during a fill-up. Matter of fact, it did this about two weeks ago to me here in GA so I guess we're getting the summer blend in as well.

Yeah, I'm charting similar gains here. My mileage went down as my corner station was getting to the bottom of their winter gas supply. Fresh trck arrived with (I suppose) summer blend and my mileage is increasing around 40 miles per tank.

Holly molly, i thought I screwed up my mileage calculations. Yes, for the 1st time since I bought her she registered 21.8 mpgs. I'll take that. Thanks summer gas!!!

Mine just jumped the last fill. Warmer weather and summer gas.

Same here. During winter I'd get around 290-300 miles per tank. Now I get 320-330.

I first noticed the 10% change in winter/summer gas around November 1995 in my last Toyota pickup...enjoy the improved gas milage. Heavy snow tires, extra four wheel drive use and winter gas have caused me to refill at the 270 mark on the tripomenter, with 265/70-17 Firestone Winterforce UV studded snows...Now I am back at the 310-320 mark. This does not include a correction for a tire 3 sized bigger than the stock 245/75-16

Why would your mileage go UP with summer blend? Down in the south this simply means alcohol blend to reduce emissions. But that LOWERS fuel mileage since alcohol only has about 2/3 the energy of an equivalent volume of pure gasoline.

Mine gets worse, but not hugely worse. 15% of gas by volume is alcohol. But it only gives you the equivalent power of 10%. So maybe a 5% drop. 1mpg at 20mpg total, maybe.

In the north summer blends are less ethanol, high ethanol is for the winter to keep the gass freezing

Temps have more impact than gas blend. When we have a warm week in winter my mpgs go up. Same gas only diff is temps.

    Interesting.

I got 19.6 mpg on a recent trip to NH, from central Maine (about 225 miles). I filled up in NH, and drove home and got 23.4. The Temp on the trip to NH, was about 45F and on the way home it was near 70F. I suppose it's also possible the gas blends were also different.
