I recently added the Alpine SPS-600c's up front based on all the positive reviews and the fact that I liked how they sounded in the store. After having them amped and cranking them up to higher volumes, I find that they get terribly trebly and almost...brittle. Crisp maybe is an accurate term as well.

Ive got a Pioneer sub that is amped and sounds fantastic, and am running an Alpine MRP-F300 amp for the speakers. I need some suggestions for components for the fronts that will sound full and balanced even into the higher volumes. I listen to mostly rock and jam band type stuff (Umphreys, Black Keys, Kings of Leon, etc.)

Looking to spend up to ~$200 so obviously not incredibly high end. I also plan to do some sound deadening in the doors this summer when the weather improves.

Im currently looking at these two, but really need opinions or other options...

i have 6501's in all 4 doors. they sound nice and clear, however, they don't like the lower sounds all that well. i need to add a sub to take care of those tones.

Yeah I actually decided on image dynamics ctx65cs. I got impatient and spent the day reading and found many people on DIY raving about them for the price. Also placed an order for some baffles from Marv ;)

Now I just have to figure the best wire to wire them with my MRP-F300!

EDIT: Marv convinced me to try out the Hybrid Audio Imagine series. Damn curious!

i ran my rca cables under the dash, under the center console, crossing over to under to under the driver seat to my amp. from there, i ran the wires under the carpet and under the sill to each of the doors. i ran the speaker wire back over the center console and under the carpet to get to the passenger side sill.

i didn't want to cut the carpet, so you can see some wires if you look between teh center console and the driver seat.
