I just installed an Alpine MRX-V70 5 channel amp and have a number of questions (this is my first experience with an amp/sub combo)..

    1. At what level do most people set the LP filter. My sub has a range of 20-200 HZ

    2. Do you usually set the HP at the same level of the LP or do you allow some overlap.

    3. The amp has a setting for sub sonic filtering - I understand what this is supposed to do, but have no idea how to set it.

    Thanks

The HU is an Alpine CDE-HD138BT, the sub is a Polk MM840 and the door speakers are Infinity Reference 6020cs (front) and Kappa62.9i (rear)

Generally 80hz is a starting point for the lpf

OK with 80 as the low filter point......should I set the high point at 80 as well?

I was thinking of going higher (assumming I match the low to the high) so that I would have less bass to the door speakers (under the theory that less bass would allow for cleaner sound/more power to the door speakers).

Anyone with any comments on the sub sonic filter?

You should be fine on 80hz for the LP on the sub and 80hz for the HP on the door speakers. If the door speakers can't play 80hz you need to ditch them.

I would set the subsonic to 20hz and see if you need to bring it up. Not a lot of content below 30hz and nothing below 20hz that you can hear. So setting at 20hz means you wont hear anything missing at all even if there's content that low.
