My daughter and I are going to be in Lake Havasu this weekend for the fireworks convention. I was wondering if there were any easy/moderate trails or other cool things to see in the area. We'd be working it into our schedule, so ideally it would be something close where we could get out and back in 4 hours or so.

Years ago I was out there and we went up a road along the Bill Williams river and out to Swansea. I don't know if that road is open or if there's other more interesting things to see in the area.

Looking for milder trails since we will only have one vehicle and I'd prefer not to brush-stripe my new truck too bad (though a few scratches are OK and has already happened).

    Thanks!

For anyone wondering, the road along Bill Williams River (Planet Ranch Road, I think) is closed a few miles in. Still some interesting stuff to see in that first bit.

I was surprised nobody had any suggestions, but maybe I asked in the wrong forum. It turns out my daughter is enjoying the pyro seminars far more than I expected, so we have not had much extra time to explore anyway.

Picture along Planet Ranch Road. There appears to be a ton of BLM land with roads all over around Lake Havasu itself. We drove in and out of some gullies on the island that were pretty fun, but otherwise didn't have time to do much exploring, but the option is there.

Not really. We were on a pretty tight schedule and my daughter was worried about getting back in time for one of the seminars, so she didn't even want to stop.

Last time I was out there (maybe 12 years ago?) the road continued on and connected with other roads so you could make a cool loop including Swansea. There were some significant water crossings further in. It doesn't surprise me that they closed it, but it's still a bummer.
