    Hey all,

So I am wondering what successful tips do you have for an outdoor-kept 2010 Taco that is no longer a daily driver? It isnt used much since my 3 kids dont fit easily into it, mostly just for the occasional lumber run to Lowes.. any suggestions as far as how often I should take it for a highway drive to keep things lubricated? Should I change the oil every 5K still or at a certain scheduled time (6 months? 1 year?) Thanks!

108K on the odo fwiw. All fluids were changed last summer. Havent even put 5K on it since then. Was thinking of a yearly oil change regardless of mileage (if under 5K)

Yearly oil changes sounds like a good idea, and some fuel stabilizer would be a good idea if a tank of gas sits in the truck for months

Is it parked outside or garaged? That makes all the difference in the world. If it's outside I'd be drenching everything under the truck in fluid film or a similar anti rust product. If inside I'd still keep an eye on it and coat any rust spots. I also have a '10 and am in NJ, mine is a mess underneath. All the brake and trans lines and fittings have heavy corrosion. I've replaced two trans lines in the past year and am currently waiting on my frame to come in for replacement. If you only use it for the occasional lumber run maybe sell it and buy a regular cab and pocket the difference.

I also have a 10 it sits in the driveway 4-5 days a week really only use it now to go fishing. I have a work van. I would get a good coat of wax on it . Uv protect the headlights and I would drive it at least once a week just to keep things lubricated . Check tire pressure once a week also. If you take care of it ...it will take care of you

Be sure to use a battery tender if it’s gonna be sitting for weeks at a time, it’ll save you money and frustration in the long run

Sell it and get a tundra so you can haul both kids and lumber.
