I would like to put a 4" lift on my 2012 tacoma. Looking for any info who on a suspension system that will allow me to achieve 4" inches of lift. Not looking to do anything ridiculously fancy. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am still learning.

You have a couple of routes you can go then.

    1) 3" suspension lift with a 1" body lift (brings issues with it if you want to do aftermarket bumpers later)

    2) 4" drop bracket lift. (Probably not going to be your idea of affordable)

There isn't really anything affordable when you go to a drop bracket lift though. You also have to cut the crossmember in the front and replace it with the crossmember that comes with the drop bracket kit.

Your best bet would be to just go with a quality 3" lift by itself to be honest with you.

@medic2230 Cool, thanks for the suggestions. Could you recommend a quality 3" lift? I had looked a little into Bilstein 5100s but I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to different brands.

Affordable wise 5100's will be your best bet without spending a lot. A lot of people mate 5100's up with OME 885 or 887 springs and set them at 0 (the springs gives the lift like that and you don't need to change the 5100's off of 0). You can use OEM (Toyota stock) springs and adjust the clips on the 5100's but you will start to get a harsh ride from the compression). Next up would be a Old Man Emu (OME) lift with a AAL (Add A Leaf), above that would be the same with a Dakar leaf pack instead of the AAL. Then you start getting a little on the pricey side with Fox, King and Icon's. Above that would be more than you are looking to spend being that you want something affordable.
