The ones I got look almost exactly like the MS2 but they are now called Defender LTX MS

You probably never heard of this tire but look into it they are excellent. They come in both P and LT sizes

I went Michelin LTX. Handled pretty well in the little bit of snow/ice we got down here this year (I'm also a 2WD).

The Defender is replacing the MS2 (which are being phased out from what I understand)

I just pulled the trigger on these! It was a toss up between these and the BF Goodrich T/A's, however they said the heavier 10 ply tires were causing some balance issues on some of the 4x2's.

    Will post pics after Monday!

I went with the BFG KO2's and went up one size to 265/70/17 and I am very pleased so far. Super quiet (as quiet as the stock tires), are incredibly and surprisingly good on the freeway, kick ass in heavy rain (it's been raining a lot here in Northern California) and look great. No regrets.

Here are the biggest tires you can go with without a lift with no rubbing for 2016 Tacomas: 265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the BFG KO2 so those are the ones I've ordered in size 265 70 17 in load range C. I can't wait to get them.

You will not be disappointed. As mentioned earlier in this thread, they have exceeded my expectations so far in how quiet they are , and how well they handle.

I finally had to replace my set of nitto terra grapples at 71,000 miles. I used them same as you, 90% on road use and occasionally off road and snow. I love them and purchased a second set. Their a all terrain tire so road noise is minimal but it's still aggesive enough to give you that off road tire look.
