Im looking for a low light solution for night time beach driving. Its common courtesy to turn your headlights off when driving past fishermen or other trucks while driving at night as to not blind them. In some spots your driving very close to the water and it sketches me out to have no light. What I'd want is some with low light, possibly pointed down so i can see 5-10ft in front of me and not be lighting up the beach.

I actually just read a thread on that, and thats what sparked my interest in starting this thread. They looked quite bright though. But i liked the setup of having them on the hood close to the windshield.

Fog light anytime mod with some yellow fogs?

They light up the path pretty good, are lower to the ground and aren't quite as blinding as a white light. You might even be able to angle them down more depending on the setup you choose.

Use orange or red light covers for some light pods. It will cast good light but without effecting night vision and adding glare.

Couldn't you just use your parking lights?

I have amber covers on my ditch and fog light led pods. Dims them down alot but still enough to see.
Perfect for using my fog lights to drive into my hunting spots in the a.m.

Or depending on what your DLRs are they work to. I've navigated a few campsites with only my orange DLR on my '15

    Fog lights.

There is a simple mod called 'anytime fogs' that allows use w/o low beams being on.

Are the brackets for the ditch lights im seeing able to be pointed downward? I like the idea of putting a red cover on them. The headlamp i use to fish at night is red as to not mess up night vision and piss off other fishermen.

I agree with the others - fog lights. Run a separate switch so you can run just your fog lights. They shine low and wide so you have good visibility straight ahead and out to the side. The won’t annoy the fishermen. Problem solved.
If I was fishing on a beach with trucks driving up and down the beach I wouldn’t much care about the lights but I would be damned concerned about vehicles driving close to me in the dark. Go with the fogs for their safety and your safety.

Thats definitely the cheapest option. Kinda like how those ditch lights look now. And yes hitting people or animals is definitely a concern, another reason I want some light. Also never know when a storms gonna deposit a nice log on the beach, hitting that would ruin my night.

The optilux yellow H11's are like $20 on Amazon. I have them. Nice deep amber light. Combine with fog light anytime... that'd be my choice for your scenerio.

No adjustments on bracket. But the led pod lights all come with adjustable brackets.
But as we all keep saying..
The fogs (fog led pods can have covers)
or even 32" in lower valence provides more useable light.

&Covers solve the too bright problem.

Fog light anytime mod is your best bet. Plus you can get yellow lamin-x covers. Both under $10 and super easy the fog mod will take you 2 minutes and is reversible.
