I am looking to purchase a Toyota Tacoma. I want it to be 4wd 4-door with a short bed. Anyone have any suggestions on which model to get? Or which engine to stay away from. Reason I ask is because I am going to be looking for a used truck possibly 2008 and up. Didn't know if there were any engines to stay away from.

Also any dealers in the Georgia area anyone recommends? What about Carmax I know it is the Walmart for vehicles but just wondering?

I'm a jeep owner and they have changed engine sizes over the past years and a few out there that are low HP with issues.

all the motors have been the same since 05, u could only get the 4 door with the 4.0 v6 until 2011 and then they 2.7 I4 was an option, but most will recomend the v6 on a double cab. some also say that pre-08 had week motor mounts, but that wont be an issue for u if u search for 08 and newer. I personally like cargurus.com for internet shopping, they take an instant market value of each vehicle then list it from best deal to worst deal. I cant recomend contacting the seller thru the sight tho because u will then be bombarded with emails from it. i just saw what dealer had the vehicle then called drove to the lot.
