I had the JDM mirrors on my Subaru back in the day that had similar glass and they were amazing. I'll definitely keep an eye out for a sale or something in the future.

How does the BSM work on a 2016 Tacoma with no BSM on the vehicle?

Okay guys/gals so I installed my mirrors today and it literally took about 10 minutes per mirror. Of course for you guys that want to install the turn signal that never had turn signals in their current mirror housings you are going to have to wire through the door into the cab and then tap into the left and right turn signals. So the first thing that you have to do is angle the stock mirror so it faces an upward angle. Then you basically pull from the bottom of the glass and it will pop off. After that I disconnected the connections of my blind spot monitor and my heater element. After that I mocked up my mirror and plugged on my heater elements and the blind spot monitor plug. I then popped off the whole mirror housing similar to what I've done in the past when I had to install meso's turn signals. From there I tapped my mirror turn signal wiring right into the wires for the turn signals. On the driver side the white wire goes directly to the black wire with white line. On the passenger side it's the opposite in the pink wire goes to the black wire with white line on it. The original setup comes with a different style tap than I like to use so I used my own as seen in the pictures. Below are some pictures of my install and also a couple videos. Even though I had installed this company's mirrors on my Civic I feel that the Tacoma mirrors have less of a warp look to them which is a good plus. Overall I'm super happy with these mirrors and you can definitely see how much better field of vision I have. I also like the placement of the blind-spot light on this one which is higher up on the outside corner. I will do some more testing in the daylight tomorrow when I go to drive my truck.

One last thing, I wouldn't follow the instructions provided which show taking off the entire mirror housing and door panels. That is more for those who are wiring that didn't have turn signals or the heater option in the mirrors before. You can also wire up the heater elements if you didn't have heaters before but will have to find a switch to use to activate it and wire into a 12 volt accessory fuse.

Thanks for this, I haven't watched the video yet, but, do we need anything other than the mirrors to do this installation?

Depends on your current truck options and the mirror you bought (or are interested in). I have a truck with the premium package that has turn signals in my mirror housing, heated mirrors and bsm. So I bought the Suma mirror with the turn signals in the glass, heated mirror capability, and bsm light. The only thing I had to do was plug everything else in and then tap my two turn signal mirror wires (taps provided with the mirrors but I used my own style out of preference) into the two stock wires going to my mirror housing turn signal. Other than that having a wire crimper and wire stripper were the only tools needed. The mirror itself and the external housing were the only things I pulled off by hand.
@Bridge4 What options do you currently have on your truck and what mirror were you thinking of using?

I have the same set up as you, and same mirrors ordered. They might be in my mailbox right now actually, I never checked the mail yesterday!

Thanks for these tips! I have the meso turn signals so I've pulled the caps before, just leary of tapping into the lines. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm always worried when I mess with electrical.

Awesome. Yeah like I said they do come with the red taps. You should be fine with them. I just have my personal preference with the style I used. Maybe there's a YouTube video on how to use them. I always cover them up with electrical tape too but as an ex stereo and alarm installer here I've seen people not use tape. You could also used heatshrink on there too if you really wanted. Let me know if you have any other questions.

You would just have to buy the mirror without the BSM option which is cheaper.

Have some left over heat shrink in the basement from a atv handle warmer mod. Got some tape too, will see which fits easier and just go with that.

So drove the truck this morning and just like my other car that I have these mirrors on it gives a wider field of vision. This is a slight warp near the outer edge of the mirror which takes getting used to but the best thing is not to focus on it too much. I love being able to see the cars in my blind-spot though.

Learned the hard way that I cannot install these mirrors...
The actuators in my mirror assembly is different, thus will not mate with the tabs on the mirror itself.DSC_2190.jpg DSC_2185.jpg

Woah yours looks completely different on your mirror internals. Looks like you even have the same model /year truck as mine. Maybe contact Eddy at Suma to see what options could also be available.
