    Hi

So I tried searching and while I can read the reviews on TireRack and all that, was wondering if anyone here could give any real world feedback on either of these tires.

A while back I tried to get some Hercules Terra Trac tires (at the suggestion of a forum member) but that didn't pan out due to a misinterpretation of the listing, so I was back to square one. I was looking forward to them despite my inability to find them most places, but the two in my thread title have been coming up more and more for winter weather prowess.

In the past I would normally have done a summer and winter tire, but lack of space and frankly no desire to lug these things out of my basement any longer make me want to just get one tire as close to goldilocks as I can.

Driving is 95% highway, which I would absolutely get a highway tire but I also need something that will be as good in the winter as a tire can be without being a dedicated winter one. Searching has told me the Grabber is excellent in the snow and wears like iron. I do about 12k miles a year in NJ FWIW. I don't drive fast in this thing and just need it to be competent in the wet and snow. I don't care about tire noise though I can't imagine either of these would be MT at 70mph loud.

The Sumis look to have some good reviews and let's face it, the cost component heavily factors into me considering them.

Anyone here have any input on either of these? I had the Grabbers on an old 3/4 ton truck and loved them but that was a different animal than the Tacoma. Also I am only considering the P series tire, NOT the LT series as that is pure overkill for my use case.

I tried searching and found some threads talking about the Grabbers but less the Sumis, and some of the threads were real old so maybe some of those users might have some updates?

EDIT: Meant to say the ATX flavor of the Grabbers, I realize Grabber AT can catch a few different ones...

EDIT AGAIN: Wanted to add, these would be in a 265/70/17 size; figured I would include that since some tires are only available in Load E depending on size I suppose

I ran the Grabber ATXs previously on my Tacoma and I absolutely loved them. I wrote a review here somewhere, let me try to find it.

Ah perfect! Nevermind then lol. Yea I highly recommend them.

I would still be running them but I just wanted to try out some new stuff. They are excellent tires. Expedition Overland swears by them, and they are the only tire my offroad shop recommends.
