Exactly. I wanted the drawer too but they didn’t even want to sell me one just because of the costs is what I got told.

Like you said people don’t want to futz with things. Our goal is to make this very user friendly, so the customer can enjoy an easy and painless installation, and then can always add additional items, such as tool boxes, drawer, or water tank, and do so with little extra work.

Yes, tool boxes are nice. Guess if a work truck, work functionality is really what's important, not so much looks.

This isn’t our final form either. We can’t wait to show everyone our production model!

yeah that drawer is something i'd get as well since there wont be lockable storage (you can modify the OEM bed doors with a key lock for a few bucks) for the bed of the truck (implying you also don't get the storage boxes under the tray).

    Looking forward
Can't wait to see the final idea you guys have in mind!

So to touch on both of these; yes the drawer and tool boxes will be lockable, as well as keyed alike. We want customers to have secured equipment.

Biggest plus is, you can buy the tray, and then always add these accessories. There’s no commitment to buying them with the tray. That was our emphasis, to split up costs, and to configure a tray to your liking, and not being stuck with a set “package”. Yes a bundled product will cost less in the long run, but we didn’t want folks to feel like they had to make the jump up front. Providing better flexibility, and customization.

We can’t wait to share what we have coming!

Its less the lights and more that it doesnt fit the aesthetic of the truck body at all. imo, a redesign of shape and overall look would be more important than lights.

Just my opinion that im entitled too

Yea we’re trying to figure something out. The challenge being DOT & SAE approved. The lights you see on other brands from Australia meet the standards, but are not approved. That’s the main focus. So once the production model is ready in the next few weeks, we will post it with our solution to lighting that will be more attractive.

The redesign is just to offer better articulation and user functionality, which was a challenge in its own to accomplish.

I was hoping to see something a little more like the above picture and less like a home depot flatbed

If you took the swing-gates off and painted it black, they are almost exactly the same. Chandler made it for himself so he could add all the finishing touches that would make a mass produced rack 10Gs instead of 7.

With the immense response we’ve already received, we’re looking at an “economy” style deck. No sideboards, no interior tie downs, no tire carrier functionality. The sideboards can always be added later, along with tool boxes, drawer and water tank. This would get it in the sub $7000 USD mark.

    Thoughts?

Your original post got my attention as is. I'd be looking for the sideboards, and probably the toolbox, etc anyway.

That'd be legit to have an even more bare bones budget model though. I think there's a decent demand for this style bed in the states, its just the massive cost like that scares folks away from the Norwelds, etc. Really pulling for you to get an affordable foothold for this market!

We’re working on package models as well. Cost is relative to aluminum, and right now on build to order basis. Once we figure out the way to make the assembly process as streamlined as possible, we can shake down the costs then too.

Maintaining a light weight, but strong product was a challenge as well, but that’s what will set us apart from other brands.

I think his bumper, lights, tool boxes and fenders fit together a lot better but sounds like this is something the OP might be working on for the production model. Chandler also isn’t running a hitch or slide out tray which the OP’s lower hanging bumper takes into account.

Production model will be different, still looking at some better options. We have a solution that involves modification of the factory filler. Open to opinions!

    This is what it currently looks like;
