265/75R16 Wildpeak AT3W, Softopper, Kicker speakers, shift knob, Ventvisors, Tint, Husky Weatherbeaters, Hondo Garage radio knobs. The to do list: Bilstein 6112/5160, 3 leaf add-a-leafs, lights, alu skid, PRP seat covers...
I have a lot of first responders and military family members. I have the up most respect for all of them. With that said, we got a real gem of a DOT officer in the neighboring township that is known counties away. There are trucking companies that have added 30+ minutes to their truck routes because of this guy. He pulled my brother and I over and harassed us for 45 minutes with intent to ride our ATV's without reg/insurance (illegal to ride on public land in PA without it). They were on a trailer, no batteries, no fuel, no riding gear, half the tires were flat. We were hauling them 3 miles from my Gram's to my parent's house to see if we could get them running and all we had was a bill of sale for each. I've seen this guy pull trucks over that got 8' lumber over the tailgate of 6' bed trucks cause the boards are 4" out beyond the bumper and not flagged. He always pulls over trucks towing RV's. So, unfortunately, worrying about the numbers is a factor depending on when and where I have to go. I have no problem putting 1800lbs of concrete bags in the back of my truck and will be more willing to do so with my near future upgraded leaf packs. If I have to be heavy out his way I load specifically to keep the truck level at worse and time for later at night when not many people are around.

This sounds pretty do-able because my ATV is only about 400lbs ready to ride.

Just out of curiosity though, about how much more would an 84" bed for a DC Tundra be vs a Tacoma?

Lucky you guys hey, that's brutal. That's probably the worst I've ever heard of any DOT officers..

Tundra would be more suitable for sure. Weight wise, the Contractor 84 Full-Size is 340lbs~. Price wise You're looking at $9,100 CDN, so $500 more.

Were you using a hitch extender on the picture with the trailer ball? Im assuming this SB truck has a 6ft flat bed?

    Good morning Tyler,

Correct, 6ft flatbed on a short box chassis. No hitch extender was used or needed.

    This looks great!
For taillights, could you use something more "off the rack" like the one's from this thread?

Glad you like what we're producing!

Do you mean the FJ40 style lights? We did look at these as well.

We have the option for amber signal lights if it were preferred. Same style as you see there, just an orange lens instead. We had to make sure the lights were SAE/DOT approved and readily available. It was a long process looking for lights that met all of our required criteria.

While not apposed to these, they just didn't meet what we required.

I know what a pain it must be for guys to reach and "what if" you after all the work you put into this. Thanks for the reply. I only mentioned it because I love to use "off the rack" parts, even for custom builds, in case I need a replacement. Much easier to find the FJ lights if I were in a rush. Again, thanks for humoring me with a reply. :)
I had a '71 VW Single Cab that was amazing and I miss that old rig. I have been a flatbed fan ever since and if/when I am ready to pull the trigger, yours is the one that ticks the most boxes for me.

That is a fair point. Always try to stay on top of questions and inquiries :)

I don't think I'll ever have another truck with a factory box again. So much more usability with the flatbed system. Love the storage solutions we have integrated into our decks. Would be happy to SET you up with one

I did not see this answered. Sorry if I missed it in the thread.

The easy-off/on gates are great but.....is there a way to secure them from theft?

This is awesome (since I have a DCLB!). Another thought from my old VW single-cab days.
The tail gate of my old single cab had holes (one at each end) that were die-punched to line-up with the brake-light when the gate was down. A pretty cool idea from those German engineers! :)

So they do include a cotter pin, and the hole is big enough to run a cable and lock the cable to rope rail. Haven't had any of our customers lose these to theft.

If you have a DCLB, you'll like this one we did then. Funny thing, my background is all German as well :mudding:

Extremely soon! The amount of times we had to go back to the drawing board was a little painful...

Is this the 72" width or the 76" width?

Correct, same width. It’s essentially in-line with the body, allowing for use with the factory mirrors.
