Hi all, sharing my recent find incase anyone else can benefit. I have a 2014 4 door 2wd pre runner. Have never been happy with the payload and I'm sure the rear leafs are tired. About 6 months ago I put in a set of SumoSprings and love them. Trimmed em a bit but still have some harshness on the street when hitting bumps empty. Overall the trade off has been well worth the improved load manners and cornering.

Planning an upcoming offroad trip where I wont be loaded and was thinking about a good solution to get some more flex and travel from the rear for the trip.

I recently found a set of energy suspension bumps 8.9104G $31.88 on Amazon for the front of our 4th Gen 4runner that work really well. Almost as good as my Taco front DuroBumps and way cheaper.... I bought another set to experiment on the rear of the Taco to swap between needing the SumoSprings.

Since they are hollow they can bolt directly in place of the SumoSpring in a matter of minutes. A 12mm nut is needed. Since they are hollow my only concern is debris and moisture collecting but will use a stainless nut to help. They are a similar height to the stock rear bump so travel should be the same.

Without doubt they'll give you more flex and travel. A lot more than the sumos ever would. The sumos are for loads and stability. Pretty cool how a 12mm bolt allows to switch between your flexable (near factory height) bumpstops and the Sumo Springs.

Follow up with ride and part report.

I put the Firestone airbags on mine. I'm pleased with them.

    Nice!
Im installing Sumos this morning for towing the boat but worry about no load ride.
This looks like a great option.
