The drivers side sun visor in my 06 SR5 Access Cab has been hanging away from the headliner slightly since I bought it, about 3/4 of an inch. Very annoying on rough roads to have it flapping up and down. After pulling it off today I figured out what needed to be done.

On the back side of the mount I noticed there is two plastic posts where the screws pass through to space the mount away from the roof properly. What I did was shave off nearly all of the top plastic post in an effort to angle the mount upwards. Worked like a charm, the visor is now tight to the roof, yet still functions as it should (For now!). I suppose adding a couple small washers under the lower post might achieve the same result or better.

I can add some pictures if this isn't descriptive enough. I have no idea if this would work on other trim levels or years, I am not responsible for any damage to your vehicle.

Thanks for the idea. Mine have been mounted with the mounts reversed since summer - since the angle is a bit different, it holds them nice and tighly to the headliner. I thought I had won, until my wife tried to rotate the visor to the side window - it wouldn't!

I tried that, ran into the same issue. Hope this works for you!
