The sun visors on my xtracab don't work very well, I like the look of the double cab visors with the extendable sun blocker and even the 2nd gen ones with the mirror cover. I was thinking of going to pick n' pull and salvaging a pair from another taco, tundra, or hell even a Nissan if I can't find any toyotas.

Anyone ever replace theirs? I don't know if the sun visors are inter compatible between models.

If you go to a junk yard, you don't have to look exclusively in double cabs for the extendable sun visors. My extra-cab has them. I think all 01-04 years had them. Not sure if the 2nd gen sun visors would fit okay without hitting the rear view mirror though.

Have you thought about a windshield tint strip? Helps a TON. Don't even use my visors anymore.

I think they came out of the factory with a tint strip, it's tinted green at the top. Doesn't help at all. In the morning I drive into the sunrise, and in the evening I drive directly into the sunset. I should probably get a job in the North.

Naw man. Like an aftermarket 5% tint strip. Yeah factory ones don't help at all. Mine is like a 4.5" strip iirc. Perfectly aligned with the horizon with my seating position. And if the sun is setting is when it gets in my eyes, then all I gotta do is sit up a tad from slouching.

WOW, I should look into that. On my Mercedes I have these clip on sort of tinted plastic sheets that attach to the sun visor.

Ha I think a tint strip would be better for ya. You can probly order one and do it yourself. Not too hard. But it's fairly cheap at a tint shop to get it done. The one I went to had me sit in the truck while he adjusted it to my liking. As far as how far down it went. Keep in mind though, that they're legally only supposed to go to the AS1 (i think it's called) line. Anything below could possibly be a ticket. But I've never heard of that or have been bothered about mine.
