3 times through golden nozzle and it still has dirt. I didn't want to push a forth time and have them tell me that I can't come back there again. I have to go to a self serve one and have at it.

Somebody mentioned that I was walking back and forth quite a bit to spot people. I ended up walking 11.5 miles, and roughly 24k steps on Sunday.

Do I want to make the 45 minute drive to Golden Nozzle? I don't have a pressure washer let alone a hose, and I feel like a DIY is going to cost a fortune @___@

When I self wash at carwash I bring truck ramps with me and lift front end then lift rear end.
I get on a trench coat and safety glasses and have at it.
I'm still usually soaking wet at the end anyway but it comes out nice.
I spray engine out with hose at home and use purple power half mixed with water.
Engine is running entire time I do this and I'm careful about the spark plugs area.
    Don't let purple power sit!
I spray everything then I immediately spray with hose on shower.
1 or 2 times does the trick.
Then I go for a short ride to dry everything out or use a leaf blower.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
Don’t know where in the HV you are but I use the purple parlor car wash and I’ve done some dirty things that I was off there.

I might have to! The mud looked good the day of, maybe even a little yesterday. Now it's starting to look gross

I put one side of the truck at a time on ramps and bring a scrap of foam insulation to kneel/ lay on. Pull in, give everything a good presoak, let the mud get soft, drive down a bumpy road to knock some of it off, get a coffee from Stewart’s, make sure the car wash owner isn’t around and break the ramps out.

Most of what we hit (aside from your bath tubs) was more water than mud. I didn’t have too much to clean.

Seems like Im one of the few proudly driving around with Vermont dirt and mud all over my truck.

Did a quick damage assessment this am. No leaks. Sliders got some use, but not much. Couple skid plate marks. Definitely a bunch of new pin stripes on the passenger side but thats expected.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
For those of you that don't have a pressure washer and don't want to lay on your back to clean underneath your truck pick up one of these if you don't already have one. Flip it around and have at it while just standing next to your truck. They do a good job (not AS good as a pressure washer but still) and only costs a around $10.

I would have left it on but I'm going out again this weekend.
That stuff was caked on big-time I'd rather not carry the extra weight.

Just wanted to say this thread is great. I literally read every post and checked out every pic... That trail is the type of trail I live for! My truck is my DD so I have to take it easy but I love going over tricky technical stuff like this trail appears to have. Maybe once the border opens up again I will make it down there to join you guys for one of these runs! As long as you don't mind a Canadian tagging along! ;) Great thread with what seems like a truly great group of folks! If any of you ever travel to Nova Scotia drop me a PM and I'd be more then happy to show you around the trails here!

    Chad
