So we don't know how this is going to turn out. Docloco had the idea that every one should insure their paypal payment (so dont do the friends option that is free). This would give you extra insurance. I think I will be doing this.

Here is the breakdown:

for Florida
$577.30 x 2.9% + $0.30 = $17.04

For Texas
$557.50 x 2.9% + $0.30 = $16.47

Will we be receiving everything within 180 days?

Are you paying the manufacturer using PayPal to try to protect yourself as well?

 

We should be getting everything within 2.5 months so less than 90 days.

I am paying the manufacturer through paypal.

 

Mind you, this does not include the annex or the +100 for the 4-5 person tent. Working on the spreadsheet that will make this clearer to you and to everyone else.

 

Anyway we can all pay the manufacturer through Paypal? I think what he's saying is if someone doesn't get theirs or the correct thing then they would have to dispute through you since they paid you through Paypal and then you could be in the middle of a mess.

 

This is actually an interesting idea. It would certainly keep you less in the mess. Definitely some CYA for you.

If I were the MFG I wouldn't do it - but these guys might.

Now what if you use your credit card to pay via Paypal, would we receive both Paypal protection and our credit card purchase protection?

 

Trying to double dip a claim? Just kidding.

 

I feel like that is a question for your CC issuer.

 

If @Mrguitarguy01 is paying the manufacturer in one lump sum, the entire purchase would be protected under Paypal, but he would be the middleman between us individuals and the manufacturer. If we all pay @Mrguitarguy01 using the Paypal with buyer protection it is essentially the same thing, except @Mrguitarguy01 would be legally bound to satisfy our claims and would still have to chase the manufacturer. I think paying @Mrguitarguy01 with the extra paypal insurance fees is a waste? That's how I am seeing it. Is that correct?

Edit: I guess it adds a layer of protection in case @Mrguitarguy01 decides to run away with our money (JK! lol) but not much else.

 

No it's not a waste to protect your purchase transaction.

Yeah, I really want it to be the one with the windows and double ladder, but is suspect it's the other one.
