When we get closer to the weekend, maybe this Thurs or Friday, we could see who is up for doing 2N17x versus 2N17 (the harder Pilot Rock section versus the normal Pilot Rock trail).

Both trails start at the same place, 2N17x branches off to the left and 2N17 stays right. They eventually meet up about halfway through the 2N17 trail.

Also, I know of some fire roads at the end of Pilot Rock that take you up into Lake Arrowhead, there's a really cool brewery up there :D

I think I'm in for this. I broke my motor mount the last time I ran the "x" portion of the trail...I still finished the trail that day of course :D

Think I'm out. My front driver side wheel bearing just took a shit on me.

My lower bearings on my coilovers need replacing but...fuck it I'm still in. I'll just be creaking along making all kinds of annoying noises from my suspension lol.

So who's in for doing the X portion of the trail? We can always decide when we get there too, since both parts of Pilot Rock start at the same location

So far I see @quetzal is in for X and @schecter517 you said you were too right?

I'd be down to go for it also, if you guys are willing to walk me through it and spot me, and if you think its doable without too much risk of damage, I don't have any real armor. This is will be the most technical trail I've done, so I'll need some guidance. But I'd like the challenge.

you'll be fine, the only real difficult portions of Pilot Rock are those that are optional (have bypasses). The 'X' portion has a few obstacles including the gatekeeper that make it more difficult than the normal Pilot Rock trail but nothing that requires sliders IMO, I've never needed mine on it. Always good to have at least the stock skid plate on the front though

I think Pilot Rock X is doable that way, I wheeled with just the stock front skid for awhile back in the day on some trails that I definitely shouldn't have lol. This trail isn't one of those

I’ll probably stick with the normal Pilot Rock Trail. It’s my first time out in my new Tacoma and I don’t have a lot of off roading experience.

Who else is going to go down 2N33 (Pilot Rock Trail)? I would hate for @Fab’s Taco to go down alone if everyone or most of us will be hitting 2N17x. I mean he did organize this run. If not that many people go on 2N33, I'll join you @Fab’s Taco. Its a sweet run so I don't mind.

@eon_blue and Myself are down for 2N17x, who else is in for that trail? and who wants 2N33? I say we get a tally so we know for sure.

Definitely, I don't want to keep everyone from doing the regular trail and we definitely don't want anyone wheeling alone especially if they don't know the area all that well.

If you want, right where the two trails split off there's the "gatekeeper" for the 'X' trail, and it's right at the very start...you can take a look and determine if you want to give it a go or not. It's really the only 'hard' obstacle IMO (everything else is able to be bypassed), if you want to take a look at it and decide from there which route to go we can decide then. From there we can either split up and meet halfway or we can all take the regular trail, I'm down for whichever...just want to wheel and see some dirt :)

Definitely don't want to send anyone alone, and I would be down for 33 as well, really I'm down for whatever.

Guys thanks for being willing to change things around. When we meet up at the chevron station we can decide and have a plan. I’m up for whatever and I know there is safety in numbers. I trust those of you who are familiar with the trails. I have a stock Off Road 4x4 and I know it’s capable of a lot. I just don’t want to trash it my first time out with it. Again we can decide at the gas station. I’m looking forward to having som fun out there.

Sweet then we’ll go with @Fab’s Taco plan and talk about it when we meet at the gas station.
