I'm thinking of buying some HVAC floor duct deflectors as feet protectors. Could always try that.

So i think i can get everything on my amp rack. I am still trying to decide on my DSP. Currently its up to the MiniDSP 6x8 or the precision power DSP 88r. I think the 88r will allow me to tune from the display which may be nice for tweaking on the fly....

I was able to get the rear wall dampened, painted the boxes, still waiting on the DSP to finish and paint the amp rack.

I also have all my speakers in, im just waiting on the door adaptors to get in so i can install the dampening material and new speakers!

So many new toys! I've got a bad itch for one of those SD3 10s.

Did you hook a DSP up to them or are they just running off the amp?
They are NICE!! i had both of them running off of a MTX thunder 600w RMS amp and they were bumping!! Now that they are on the 1200w RMS amp (currently only pushing 1000w during the breakin phase) they do hit harder but i cant say that the 200w increase to both made a big difference, however they are still in the breakin phase and will be increased to 1200w in about another week. But they have great lows already and they sound nice!! I called sundown and they said that these subs are really designed to stay within the recommended RMS range but he said the cap is 600w RMS to each sub. Anything more is likely to cause damage.
The kicker cx600.1s amps are for sale! The birthsheet for both of them are rated over 650w RMS. The boxes were opened but the plastic was never removed from around the amps.

Good to know. I'm amp shopping for a little Class D for an SD3 10 & trying to figure out whether to give it way too little or way too much. I think I'm gonna go ahead with the 670W option & play it conservatively with the gain. Always better to have a little somethin' in reserve than to come up short :)

Sundown rated them for 500w rms and said that they are the only subs they make that should stay in the rated rms range. They said anything more than 600 can damage them. So let me know how the 670w works for you.

What do you consider the more important mods to be? Also how do you like the mid Bass for those speakers?

I think speakers more than anything
These speakers are really good at mids way better than some other speaker I've had like Apline type R, Menphis M class, JL audio CS and some other I can't remember

I get why they would say that and I believe them, but that's continuous. I don't intend to go there. I could use the amp on my relatively efficient little 8 which is rated at 200W and not kill anything as long as I kept the gain down. Power is dynamic anyway and I don't tend to listen to the type of music that would cause an amp to generate that sort of power for extended periods. It's just nice to have that headroom there so the amp can give it when it's asked without breaking a sweat. A cool amp is a longer-lasting amp.

Here is a quick video i made to show the excursion of these subs...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoPf4JkNZf8

I still need to mount the box to the back wall. The screws i bought were just short enough to not work! The top of the box moves a bit and rattles the back wall. Mounting it should help the rattle and make the subs sound a bit better.

It's funny you say that and don't take this personal as it's not you but have you ever noticed when people are trying to record how "hard" sub's play that they just sound like shit. They all sound like rattles and or distortion. I'm sure they don't all sound like that and that a lot of it has to do with the way it's being recorded but I just find it funny how proud they are to have it but then they record it on the cell phone and the mic can't even come close to keeping up. Sometimes people even commit on how good it sounds. Lol

Sonic electronic has some very good videos with really high quality mics that actually pick up bass but I agree most videos have a real shitty mic
