Sundown SD4 in the works!

I got a pair of sd4 10's and I cant believe how low they get in a tiny box. They do seem to miss some of the upper bass notes but damn they get low. Coming from a pair of x-10's in a huge ported box in my last truck I wasn't expecting much. I was very surprised

Maybe a function of crossover points and tuning? I crossed a 10SD3 @ 120 Hz in ~.5 cubes and the lower midbass was amazing. I'm tempted to pick up one of these to compare if nothing else. I have no shame in hording subs

 

And you shouldn’t. I have some alpines and some sundown x10. Gues I hoard too !!!! May try raising the crossover up a little. Don’t get me wrong these thing pound for as small as they are and sound very good. Been beating the hell out of them and like all sundown subs they take it well

 

What do you have pushing these? And 1 ohm or 4 ohm?

The boxes are .5 cf each and I got a Rockford 1200.1 amp. I think they can take more power too. Very impressive little subs

 

Oh got dual 4 subs running 1 ohm

 

I am seriously thinking of picking up a couple of these. Those boxes look a lot bigger than mine though. I have two Rockford shallow 10's in a single box, but had the local shop build it for me.


2 4ohm subs wired to 1 ohm. Running off a RF T500 amp. I'm thinking if the boxes were of a similar size, I'd have to move my amps under the seats.

 

actually these boxes are tiny. I can't believe how small they are. Had them built by Mr. Marv

 

Yes there is no room for amps behind the seats with these boxes. I got one under each front seat

 

Any new news on the sd4s? Or reviews? Im still waiting to jump.

 

They look pretty. Gonna be a while before I have mine in, though.

 

Badass with the right power and enclosure. Just like every sundown subs I've owed they can take some serious abuse and sound great
