Good Morning my fellow TW members! I have had my new Tacoma for nearly a month now and I must say I love this truck! everything from the way she drives to the suspension (already had kings) despite the negative nancies on here I believe this truck will be the one I keep forever and that's really saying something since I came from the raptor world. anyways onto the real question!

I have a sport model with the sunglass holder... im looking to add switches, gps mount or maybe even a radio cubby etc. does anyone know if Toyota has a blank delet plate or something along those lines to remove the sunglass holder? having a windshield light bar also makes the thing rattle like crazy. any assistance with part numbers or ways to get rid of it while still looking OEM would be greatly appreciated!

Never seen one. But that's not to say they don't exist. One member on here wanted a plate for switches that isn't made, so he made one in a cad program and had it 3d printed. Just an idea.

I never used the sunglasses holder, added a CB, battery volt meter and switch.

exactly like that but I don't want the sunglass holder to be able to move around/vibrate.. that's why I think a full delete panel would work better to prevent the unwanted noise/vibrations

I have a windshield mounted light bar which causes extra vibrations on the front roof area, this causes anything loose like the sunglass holder to rattle and shake from the added vibrations.

Dampen it with foam tape? Hasn't ever been much of an aftermarket for Tacoma overhead consoles besides some custom runs or 1 ofs.

This is mine another member did for my 2nd gen using fiberglass:

I'm sure he will answer but yea, you have to open it up and remove a soldered joint. I have the same one just haven't installed it yet.

Something to try, I have the windshield one same as you. When I first installed it was so loud whistling/howling/vibrating, very annoying! I removed the bar, used black silicone and caulked all the fins on the back. It fixed it all 99% and I am not concerned with the trade off of heat build-up, as it's only used at night and it's always much cooler.

Yup easy peasy! It is not for more channels, it is to modify the frequencies to run on US CB channels, but you can keep higher power than the standard 4 watt cb radio.

Other than it being illegal it's the best CB radio out there. Pretty small too.

I like everything about it. The fact that it's illegal makes me like it more. Anyway I can stick it to the man

You aren't the only one. 27mhz is one of the most abused bands in North America. The FCC has a lot more to worry about on that band than us running 8w of power instead of the allowed 4w.

I researched long and hard before I cam across it, bought it mainly for the size, everything else is a +. Got tired of my Cobra75 base/hand-unit.
