So the wait is almost over, I'm ordering a 2016 Tacoma. I was wondering if you new 2016 owners out there could chime in with your thoughts on the sunroof option on double cab models. I understand that the sunroof is part of the premium and technology package. Are you ok with the amount of headroom the new sunroof affords. I am 5' 11.5'' and I'm concerned that I'll get tired of having my head so close to the ceiling with the sunroof, (I've got about 1.5 inches) but I don't really want to give up the entire tech package just to avoid it. Please include how tall you are. And if you don't yet own a '16, I'd still like your opinion. Thanks.

Had you ever had a sunroof before and liked it?

Don't skip tech package it's worth it. And ppl are different where as their height comes from, i.e. Torso, legs, etc. Gotta test drive to make sure. But even so i would get tech package. Imo it's worth it

I'm 5'10" and there is plenty of headroom, front and back with the sunroof.

My wife's Corolla has a sunroof. I rarely open it, but it's nice when I do. Headroom isn't an issue in her car though because you sit even closer to the floor. (and she has manual seat height adjustment)...lucky.

I would go for it sense you like the sunroof. Might as well get everything you want in one deal than another.

It really brightens up the interior with the cover open too, I have left it open pretty much since I got the truck.

Yep, just did a 400 mile camping and dirt bike trip this weekend, still loving it, still looks good dirty and still works the same after some decent off roading.

Glad you like the new Tacoma, and your not scared to take the truck off roading. I heard the 3rd gen tacomas downshifting a lot on the interstate though, don't know if this is true of not.

Does the cover automatically retract or is it manual?

Glad you're liking it. I'm going in tomorrow to order one. i've already gotten quoted and everything. TRD OR DCSB with the 6-speed Manual. Red. I've got a longer torso for my height. But I'm definitely wanting to do the tech package. I'll have to actually drive one with the sunroof. My only bummer is having to give up keyless ignition on the MT. I'm hoping the new MT is even more fun to drive than the 2nd Gen. Haven't seen one. Probably won't till mine comes.

What's the point of an offroad package if you never take it offroad? It does downshift a bit on the highway, especially in hilly areas, which is everywhere here, but it seems to be getting better as it breaks in.

It will retract with the sunroof automatically.

Your speaking the truth. Why do people put thousands of dollars on a lift, tires, & wheels even though it just stays on the pavement. And thats good hopefully the break in will fix the downshift problem.

Only thing I can tell you about the Moonroof....(besides I could have lived without it) Is that is is the quietest moonroof i ever had when opened. I tried it to ensure it worked, and was surprised at the lack of turbulence noise.

I always get the sunroof option if one is available. I damn sure wouldn't skip out on the tech package to not have one.

Right? My truck at 750 miles has probably already seen more offroad than most trucks will in their lives.

Agreed, it's very quiet which is nice. And yes, if you don't go off road then the sport would be the better choice.

Haha you gotta break in the new suspension. I go off roading every once a month or so but most of the trails over here are just dirt, I want to do some rock crawling.

Nor did I infact I wanted all the tech possible which is the JBL system and that system Rocks as far as I am concerned. Well worth the $700 extra,

I listen to some of today's pop acts like Sarah Barellis, to Jon Lord's strings and Gino Vannelli's Canto, and it all sounds great, Even at low volumes which is the real test for an entertainment system. Full frequency stays in place at lower volumes. Still hear 30- 40Hz

I took it up and down some pretty steep stuff this weekend as well as rock ledges and it did amazing. The multi terrain select options really do make a difference, my friend got some pics I can post when he sends them to me. One thing I noticed is when the front (I think) suspension is stretched or compressed to its limit it creaks a bit, not sure what that's about.
