    Hey hey!

So I’ve got a rattle going on while I drive and I’ve figured it’s the sunroof because when I apply pressure to it, the rattling stops. I’ve tightened the screws that are visible around the handle that can open it but that doesn’t do anything.

curious if anyone else has had this issue. Would it just be the seal being worn or something? Easy possible fix?

    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

Nice looking truck. Please, post a photo of the sunroof operating mechanism. If it is similar to mine, I might have suggestions.
Also, does it leak water? If not, seals are doing their primary job.

Mine only makes an annoying metal shimmy sound at the opening and closing latch itself - only does it when open. Probably just needs some lube at the pivot points in my case. Don’t have it open enough to care. Wish I didn’t have one because it’s a liability to me.

    Thanks! It’s my baby haha!
Here’s what my latch mechanism looks like. Sorry for the delay. Didn’t get any notifications.

Thankfully it doesn’t leak! Just annoying rattles. Only stops when I apply pressure to the glass!

    Thanks.

In your pic, the latch doesn't look fully seated/clicked-in. To release and open the latch, you have to press both black side buttons, yes?

It wasn’t fully clicked in! Had my sunroof open and just “closed” it for the photo! Was just taking the photo to show the mechanism! My apologies about that!
When I do close it, it’s fully closed. With buttons pushed in and closed!

Perhaps the hinge side of the sunroof (opposite latch) is loose, has play.

I hoped in the back and pushed around on it a bit and there’s definitely play.
Might be a dumb question but how do I access the hinges?

Mine is a 98, maybe matches ... I've attached instructions from my Owner's Manual.

Maybe you have already tried this, but, here goes:
    1 SunRoof Latch remove 2 retaining screws.jpg

    2 SunRoof Latch tighten 2 10 mm bolts.jpg

Check the latching mechanism for the removable sun shield, it may be the source of the rattle.
Interesting that the instruction sticker says to press BOTH buttons to operate the latch; mine opens/operates with EITHER button pushed [EDIT] as stated in the Owner's Manual

    Good luck.

EDIT- And, thanks, @Portlander, I never noticed that the moon roof can be completely REMOVED!
