Had my 17 Tacoma on order for over a month now with the Premium Tech package. Got a call from the dealer today & says JBL is not an option for a stick, DCOR ugh! Was bad enough I couldn't get a long bed with a stick. What is with Toyota, why do they want to drive everyone into an automatic? One other thing is intermittant wipers an option? I thought by now it would be standard but seems to me I read somewhere on this forum it's an option.

Intermittent wipers are standard on the off road. I think it's not standard only on the lowest tier model (SR?).

I can't help with the JBL, but I have a manual and I want to tell you not to cave into the slush box for some little Nancy comforts. That is all.

No, I like all the niceties but I'm sticking with a stick. I could have owned this truck a long time ago but i wouldn't settle for the auto. Most people think I'm crazy including my family but I enjoy a stick. The dealer tells me that Toyota is now selling fewer than 5% manual Tacos.

Where are you located in the country Jim? I would shop around various dealers and see if one can get you what you want. If JBL truly is not an option I don't think it's something that is so great you couldn't live without it. Stick is going the way of the dinosaur. It's just the way it is.

Located in So Cal. No, the dealer says JBL is not an option in this configuration period. Also, the LB is not an option in this config. And you don't get a choice of axle ratios. 3.90 on the manual period. Oh well it is what it is :(

Maybe that probably explains why I couldn't get an auto DC sport with the premium & tech without JBL.
It could be that package is only reserved for the manual.

Quite a few folks here have had much better luck flying out to AZ (cheap one way ticket) and ordering/purchasing from dealers here. They're willing to work numbers down closer to invoice. I wouldn't buy in So Cal you're going to get the shaft there as it is. Take a short flight and a road trip. If you want contacts with other members here who have done this and had good experiences I can put you in touch with them.

There are a lot of aftermarket options instead of JBL.

I know other options exist but just wanted a no headache factory option. I was concerned I wouldn't get the 7 inch display but that's not the case I will at least get the larger display.

No, i meant you can purchase aftermarket sound system and install after delivery. You would get better sound than the JBL by installing some other systems, JBL is ok, but not the best out there by far. Nice because it's factory, but not the best sounding by far. I have JBL, it's ok coming from factory, but could do much better.

Yea, I may look into my options after getting the truck. Right now I'm just trying to make sure it has everything I want without having to add later.

Get it, my sentiments exactly. Don't want to have to tear things apart after the purchase.

Subwoofer makes the difference, IMO. Without it it seems flat with lack of bass,

The premium entunes system is still a nice stereo with good sound. It can also be upgraded easily. JBL does sound a little better especially the bass but it's a pain in the ass to upgrade.

IDK, sounds the same to me. Don't notice any difference. I'm sure it's been upgraded, but still sounds about the same.
