With 3900 on the ODO, I’ve been averaging 19.5 for a combined city/hwy/off-roading. All hwy driving is DCC @ 70 mph. I just drove to PHX, AZ from San Diego and got 23+ with strong winds pushing me left to right and no air dam which is a 400+ mile stretch.

Edit: I’m also running stock suspension, rims and tires.

Since new (4 miles on ODO) mine was consistantly getting 15/19mpg until about mid summer this year, where somewhere around 7000 miles I started seeing 20/24. Now have 8000 miles and still seeing 20/24. Recently hit 25.5mpg over 30 miles one way with AC off. Then 24mpg on the same 30 miles back home with AC on.

Have you gotten the new TSB for the transmission done yet? I did it about a month ago and seem to get 1-2 mpg better with it than prior. I average about 22-23 now, have about 13k miles and live at 3900' elevation and elevation varies about 1000' where we drive.

For 2 years now and 33k miles, I still average 21-22 per tank with mixed city and highway driving. I usually keep it around 60-65mph, sometimes 70 when speed limits permit, AC always on and +1 tire size with a tool box, factory roof rack and sliders.

In my opinion there is no such thing as break in on most new mainstream vehicles. After your first tank of gas which could have included a lot of idling from dealer prepping it etc, your mileage should be very similar every tank. The biggest difference will be from weather conditions, and driving style. I broke my engine in hard and I'm right where Toyota says I should be. I get 17mpg roughly in winter and 22-24mpg in the summer.

We have an Odyssey too and it gets anywhere from 12mpg to 30mpg. That's how much of an effect cold weather and idling can have on a vehicle.

I can easily hit 25mpg in my 4 banger, but that's 62-65mph on the highway. This is with a cap, sliders and hybrid bumper(no winch).

That was easy to do with major construction over the majority of my turnpike commute, but now it's more like a consistent 21mpg now that they are finishing up(70-75mph)

Lmao! I got this driving back from Flagstaff! Kept it rest of the day. Following day not being on the crappy I-17 for hours, she went back down to her normal 19.5-23.5 range! Loving it though! Stock tires! Aaaaahhhhh! Once the bigger tires comes and the lift...bye bye!

I want to point out something here.

If the flow of traffic is at or below 55 mph, then this is reasonable.
However, based off some assumption that you've said "rarely exceed," makes me believe you are one the few drivers we all hate sitting behind.
If this is true, you are doing no public service to your community members. Actually, you are doing a disservice by putting everyone in harms way.
    How so?
Merging, switching lanes, impeding traffic, etc. This all creates a hazardous environment for the thousands of drivers on the highway - whether behind, at, or in front of you.

Don't drive like a granny. if fuel mileage is of any of your concerns, get a prius, prius C, prius Prime or prius vag.

Is everyone here trusting what the truck display says?
On ALL my vehicles with an on dash displayed l/100km's or MPG, the readings have been optimistic, by about 10%.
The only real way to get true MPG is to first GPS calibrate your odo (mine is out 4.5%, so 100 miles is actually only 95.5,) and then drive the truck through at least 3 or so fill ups, recording the mileage and amount to refill to a full tank.
Ulysses Speedo app is fantastic. It'll show how far out youspeedo is as well.
It's in Toyota's favour to have a computer read out favourable MPG numbers.
I can get about 10.5-11.5 l/100km's or 21-23 MPG. Hoping to improve this when I move away from heavy LT BFG AT KO's and get another set of wheels for around town stuff.
