All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Strangely enough my creaks go away after I wash my truck or it rains. I am guessing I got some old ass bushings on my 07 FJC.

I personally couldn't see any issue like clunking, only gentle movement and a bent/slightly folded cam tab. Slowed it down to 50% which should accentuate rough movements. Soft, smooth movement only.

Steering racks on our third gens seem to be easy to wear out under heavy use or heavy weight - 33s though more often 35+, heavy wheeling, LT and harsher angles etc.

At this point it would be worth checking the inner tire rod ends and the mounting bushings on the steering rack to check for movement/play/clunk, and check your power steering fluid just in case. There's a possibility there's binding or slop between the actual rack and pinion itself and it could start as a clunk but you should have more symptoms like difficulty steering or difficult movement or sloppy steering, a clunking sensation, possibly a p.s. leak, too, if that's the case.

There could be debris lodged in the steering column but that strikes me as unbelievably unlikely, or extremely unlucky.

Just a quick update for those still watching this thread. New LCA bushings seems to have cured all my noises...so far. Passenger front cam was seized, driver rear bolt was seized.
Before the bushings I did new inner and outer tie rod ends which really help firm up my steering. Now with these new bushings, its running like a top, steering wise.

So, if you can't figure out your noise...could very well be your LCA bushings...maybe.
