Had a day off from work and class so figured it was as good a time as any to knock out my sleeping platform

For starters, I wanted a platform to let me utilize as much space for sleeping as possible, while retaining as much storage underneath as I could. My girlfriend and I both will be sleeping in the bed, thankfully we're both vertically challenged, so my short bed isn't going to be too much of a hindrance. So following others, I went with the tried and true "Simple Sleeping Platform".

As per every other write up with this platform, you'll need:
    - (1) 2"x6"x10'
    - (2) Sheets of 3/4" plywood
    - ~6-7' of gray outdoor carpet
    - Staple Gun (w/ a TON of staples)

I started off by cutting the 2x6 into two planks at 57" each, this allows you to easily slip each board into the notches in the bed.

Next, I began marking and cutting my plywood to size (note: I had Lowe's cut the sheets to 5' for easier handling and one less step for me to make)
I cut the sheets to have 2 boards that were roughly ~28.5"

Then, after having both my sheets of plywood cut to my desired width, I began working on the more detailed cuts with my trusty jig saw.

If using this exact setup, don't forget to make a notch for the board to fit around the front storage compartments.
This ensures that the platform fits very snug all along the bed

Repeat for the other side and you are left with this!

Then the dreaded task of wrapping these suckers in carpet.
about 750ish staples later, this is what you get

Overall I am very pleased with the outcome! If I could redo it again, I would probably work with a bit looser tolerances, once both were carpeted, they were fairly tight to place together. I'm sure as time goes on it will get easier to place the two beside each other.
But other than that, I am this much closer to being prepped for camping!

    Haven’t updated this in forever!
I just got the top back from paint a few days ago and battled with the rain to get everything assembled back together. Totally in love with this now

I also just whipped up a handle for the inside of the front slider window on the shell. Designed it in Fusion 360 and whipped it up on my 3d printer

I decided to go with 285/75's and don't regret it one bit

Thanks man! I was super stoked to see the combo in real life. I definitely agree with the color, pyrite is a very close second for me though!
