I needed a good-fast-cheap way to mount the Hi-Lift directly to the Yakima load bars on my truck. I made this thread to help others.

    Items needed:
    1. Size 1" Pipe U-Bolts ($2.50?)
    2. Nyloc nuts, or thread lock ($?)
    3. Cut up some random black exercise mat (Free)
Nyloc nuts would be ideal for this... I had none, so used a little thread lock. In the event I need the lift, I don't mind using a hand ratchet. it's four nuts and I have easy access. And it gives me time to make a plan for the recovery. :D

As a side note. The cut up exercise mat is perfect for stopping the foot from rattling. Insert a couple strips on front and back side of the beam and it's good! (pictured below.)

    I hope this helps someone.

    enough to go over stuff
Looks great. You may want some wing nuts though so you can get it off quick when you need it.

Very nice! Might have to consider this as the only other option I've seen is to mount it to the Load Warrior basket.

Do you have it secured in case of theft? I might run a lock cable through it also.

Well done though and thanks for the measurements.

    Thanks guys.

Before doing this i searched for a lot of mounting examples. And all of them were costly or required access to skill with a welder.

Wing nuts may work though I'd be concerned about getting enough torque.

Cable lock works for security, if i was going to select one i'd get a beefy one. I'm undecided right now.

i did a similar thing on my thule square bars, drilled a whole through it and stuck and eye bolt with a wing nut and lock washer on it.
