Recently started having problems with my ‘05 2.7L 5-speed clutch. Started out as hard shifting, ended up replacing the slave cylinder but got nothing but a pedal that dropped all the way to the floor. Ended up towing it to Toyota, and they sent me a pic of my clutch with 4 teeth broken off-after 19 years and 173k miles.
When I went to pick up the truck, the clutch pedal went to the floor WAY too easily, although it did allow the gears to engage. I had them bleed the clutch, and they said it was fine after a test drive. I went back to the truck and…same thing. While pushing the stick forward, I slowly pushed down the clutch pedal until the stick went into 1st gear. It didn’t engage until the pedal was about an inch off the floor.
I’m the only owner of this truck and I know EVERY squeak, rattle, and how the truck should feel. There’s nowhere NEAR enough resistance on the pedal. They gave me a loaner Tacoma, and they’re gonna put the master tech back on it. Who knows? Maybe one of us can teach him something he doesn’t know. Any help from the folks here would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!
