Going back and forth on this myself for my next set of tires, as they both make sizes that would work for my application.

x2. Unless you do some serious mudding and this isn't your DD, I wouldn't get the Super Swampers. I don't think you would be able to hear yourself think driving down the road.

The smaller size ltb's won't have that huge wrap around sidewall tread shown in the picture. Those are the much larger sizes from what i've seen. The are nice looking tires though.

You may also want to be mentally prepared for fenderwell tubbing and tires sticking waaay out fast your fenders. But as long as you're gravy with all that, roll on.

Had a set of 35" swampers on my wj. Hated every minute of it. The are big slippery balloons with lugs on them.

Yeah this sounds like one of the dumbest tire comparisons ever. I have km2s and they are great all around tire. I've also had swampers on my old yota when I ONLY mudded it and they were the shit.

Km2s on road = great dry and wet traction, quiet for a MT, 80k mile tire, easily balanced, soft ride for MT. Swampers on road = worst possible dry and wet traction, as loud as possible for any tire, 7k mile tire, impossible to keep balanced, super stiff ride.

Km2s off road = great traction in mud, great traction on rocks, good traction on sand and snow, can easily air down to 10 psi, strong sidewalls.
Swampers off road = awesome traction in mud, great traction on rocks, not very good traction on sand and snow, horrible on ice, can air down to 3 psi, very strong sidewalls.

And all these are not opinions, they are facts from my direct experiences. My suggestion, find a different tire to compare with the km2s

If your driving street mostly, then get the km2, if your mostly gona just wheel and dig in the mud/snow then get the swamper... The tread life wont last nearly as long as the km2 though.

I can vouch that the bfg is an EXCELLENT tire, it rocks.

i suggest looking to the ssr's in a 35x10.5 ........ more versatile tire than the ltb, they drive absolutely fantastic on the road (i've owned these) and absolutely fantastic off road. between the two this is best of both worlds. don't listen to ppl that have not owned swampers talking trash about them. this is not 1985 anymore and the swampers that are radial tires are awesome, but a bias ply tire is a bias ply tire.... or alternatively if you really believe you need the 12.5 they come in this width also. anyway have a close look at these, then buy them, then love them! btw the 35's in both width's come in 15, 16 & 17 inch rim sizes. the tread width on this tire in a 10.5 might be very close to the 12.5 tread width of the bfg also.... the tires were not excessively loud at all, and wore great.
