Oh, I also want to add, that I have NOT changed my air filter since I installed a Filter Minder about 2.5 years ago.

That right there is the important component of this test. Not so much that this specific brand oil was fine (which is nice too), but it's really telling that the internals are good regardless of what mish-mash of oils got you there.

Did they suggest stretching that interval? Often the additive package indicates that going to 7,500 or 10k would not be problematic.

I did not check the box asking about extended oil change intervals, as I do not plan to do so.

@ThunderOne , just out of curiosity what did that BlackStone oil analysis cost you.

SuperTech is dandy. After reading other analysis on BITOG I concluded it was more than adequate for these trucks with a reasonable change interval. I've run it several times and purchased several 5qt jugs when they are on sale. I'm down to my last one or two, then I'm switching to Rotella T6

Personally use only supertech 5w30 full synthetic (high mileage version if they have it). Change it twice a year usually before winter really hits, or at 3k miles. More often then I need to, just do it because I like to.

Will say tho the only folks I wouldn't recommend Supertech to is they live in a uber cold climate, since compared to some higher brand synthetics - supertech just doesn't flow as well in extreme cold temps as others would from the startup. Otherwise it seems to do just fine generally speaking from my use of it.

Had a couple tacos/4runners, some can take the synthetic while others can't. So depending on the wear of the engine I go supertech conventional, or synthetic. Usually though synthetic is fine in the majority of them, and if it doesn't then thats a pretty good sign something may be up with the engine thats worth noting.
