The one I posted earlier has red, blue and yellow dots that correspond with various size heat shrink connectors. It won’t work for weatherpack terminals. Here is the right tool for that job.

Why did you choose to get rid of your KC5 ready to go 3rd brake light? I'm just curious, nothing serious.

I have it here in the gulf south, and it has held up just fine. I tweaked a few things on assembly to my own standards, but it looks excellent, does not leak, and is worry free. I have no long term concerns.

How difficult is it to install one of these? I’m like a level 3/10 with wiring sometimes. Potentially have a Baja 5 Light housing I can get ahold of.

I'm not sure what you rate the 3 as. It is what most would call intermediate or above rudimentary. If you understand Positive/Negative, crimping/soldering and basic problem solving, then it is in your wheelhouse. If you are 100% plug-n-play, then this isn't for you. It is a huge step up over the OE piece.

I’m not very good at these things, probably give myself a 3/10 and it was fairly straightforward. Took me about 2 hours. Just read through all the helpful instructions in this thread and you got this.

Good to know. I’ve been getting more into the electrical side of things for awhile so I might be able to pull this off.

Still debating on painting my bd4, is this overkill? Or will be fine just like it is?

Looks like adhesion and flex issues. Prep and primer are key.
